Hey there,
In case we never met, I am Jarek. Among other things I am your friendly architect, mountain enthusiast, ex-brakedancer and a biker. Born in Poland, educated in the UK (with a quick pit stop in Germany for some student exchange), and now proudly embracing the Berliner lifestyle. But hey, don’t be surprised if you catch me soaking up the sun in Cyprus or back home in Poland, where I’m always up to something architectural.
Now, about that whitespace in the Journal section… Well, let’s just say it’s the result of my whirlwind of activity, juggling my own projects and collaborating with fellow architects. But fear not, I promise it’s not just for show!
So, what’s the deal with this space, you ask? Well, think of it as your backstage pass to the world of architecture, with a sprinkle of my own quirky twist. I’ll be sharing insights, stories, and maybe even a few laughs along the way. Plus, you’ll get a sneak peek into some of the cool stuff I’ve been working on.
My aim is to seek new opportunities for collaboration, establish new connections and creatively challenge myself to get better. Having the experience of working for ’bigger’ companies in the past, my focus now running my own design practice is to establish closer ties with the client to deliver custom architecture. In my opinion, it is important to listen to the client and with my expertise translate one’s needs and desires into well-designed, sustainable, contextual and functioning architecture.
Big shoutout to all the folks who’ve cheered me on and kept me going. With that said, I’m psyched (and maybe a tad nervous) to take the solo plunge. Stick around, because things are about to get interesting!
Catch you later,
Jarek Karpik
